The Pasadena, Maryland Operations develop space instrumentation and perform research in space sciences, theoretical and experimental plasma physics, optics,
nondestructive evaluation of materials, and radiometry. For the past 20 years, RSI has provided high quality science, engineering, and systems support for customers including the Navy, Air Force, and NASA. For example, RSI performed systems engineering, calibration, integration, and testing of the optical sensors used on-board of the successful NRL Clementine Moon-mapping mission in 1994. The Pasadena office houses optics and microwave laboratories.
